A educação na Itália fascista (1922-1945)

This article analyzes education in Italy in the period of 1922-1945, identifying the mechanisms put into practice, by the fascist regime, so that schools would serve its interests. Beginning with the Gentile Reform, it examines the process of schools’ fascist indoctrination in its different levels. This process begins with the Teachers’ Associations in 1935, and increases with the schools’ militarization. In 1938, racist laws were introduced in the teaching system. It reaches its climax with the School Letter in 1939. All this structure began to collapse in 1943 with Mussolini’s fall. Este artigo analisa a educação na Itália no período 1922-1945, identifi cando os mecanismos postos em prática pelo regime fascista para colocar a escola a seu serviço. Partindo da reforma Gentile, estuda o processo de fascistização da escola em seus diferentes níveis. Esse processo, que se inicia com a fascistização das associações de professores, acentua-se a partir de 1935, com a militarização da escola e a implantação das leis racistas no sistema de ensino, em 1938. Alcança seu auge com a Carta da Escola, em 1939. Toda essa estrutura começa a ser desmontada em 1943, com a queda de Mussolini.
