The article reflects on the relationship between the Italian fascist regime and the ideological propaganda: focusing on three moment (1926, 1938 and 1940), it is possible to understand the role of the State, which became educator of all the citizens, regarding every aspect of social life. The historiography on fascism can allow us to reflect critically on the uses of education by ideology and to the contemporary role of the school in promoting democracy, dialogue and pluralism
