ca.1900. From the back of the print: Maine Central Engine #9 at Yard 8, Commercial St. Portland, Me. This 0-4-0 was a MEC Class 4-12. Cyl:16x24 w/ 52 inch drivers. Built by the Portland Works in December 1887 builders number 571. This series of locomotives were renumbered in 1900, however this locomotive was the only one in the series which remained #9 before and after. It was scrapped in 1910. These old Cabinet photos pop up on eBay from time to time. They are classic. The Ann Arbor #249 and the Merchants Dispatch Transportation box cars are gems! /DLhttps://digitalmaine.com/larrabee_railroad_images/1026/thumbnail.jp
