Assessment and feedback play a central role in the programmatic planning and design of any degree and student learning journey. As experienced educators we assume we know what assessment andfeedback are and what they are for. However, a closer look at our own practice reveals flawed assumptions and misunderstandings. In this paper we reflect on our own entrenched conceptualisations of assessment and feedback practice in Law and start ‘disentangling’ one from the other to broaden our understanding and improve our own practice moving forward
