More than 1,000 gallons of gasoline poured out of a transport truck over I-40's bottleneck at Byers Ave. Thursday evening when a car fleeing from a deputy sheriff sheared off an outlet valve on the truck. Law enforcement officers sought the car's driver who ran from the scene just before the 6:30 p.m. collision. A passenger in the car, identified as John Simmons, 23, Lawton, was booked into the county jail on a complaint of public intoxication, according to Larry Punneo, investigating trooper, Punneo said officers.
