Driver Of This Vehicle Was In Critical Condition This Morning.

A woman was in critical condition at South Community Hospital today after her small foreign car collided with a crime bureau panel truck at an intersection in southwest Oklahoma. Police said high weeds at SW 43 and St. Clair intersection could have been a factor in the 7:45 a.m. collision. Officials were withholding the name of the injured woman pending notification of next of kin. Escaping with only bruises and cuts were two crime bureau agents, Larry Peters, 25, the driver and Ernest Smith, 35, both of Moore. They told officer Frank Abernathy they had just turned north onto St. Clair heading back to their office on NW 10 when the accident occurred. Abernath said neither vehicle was going over 25 miles an hour at the time. He said the west-bound auto hit the mid-section of the truck which sped out of control for 217 feet before coming to rest on its top in a ditch about half way between SW 43 and 44. Smith said the truck, which was carrying photography equipment, was the bureau`s only mobile laboratory. "It all happened so fast," Smith said looking at the smashed truck. "we hit, then started sliding down the street until we turned over in that ditch. I`m pretty shock up." Peters and Smith were to be examined by private physicians.
