Hills and mountains engage in the life of places, as well as in the history of landscape’s conceptions. The aim of this article is to discuss about the approaches to aesthetic sensitivity in the landscape in relation to the forms of expressive topography and its adequacy to crucial issues of our current spatial transformations. It begins with the concern about reducing the question of the aesthetic to the character of mental representations of nature, that still remain linked to these formations.
