O ENSINO DE QUÍMICA E SUA RELAÇÃO NA INSTRUÇÃO DE JOVENS DA EDUCAÇÃO DE JOVENS E ADULTOS

This article is an excerpt of master's research and seeks to understand and unveil the reality of youth in Youth and Adult Education (EJA) and its interaction with chemical knowledge. It starts from the problematization that surrounds the triad Youth, EJA and Chemistry Teaching. In this sense, the fundamental questions guiding the research are: Why do so many young people opt for EJA? And if chemical knowledge has any implications for the personal and vocational training of these young people. The methodology was based on the contribution of the qualitative perspective, focusing on the case study. The study has eight young people from the III Phase of High School and three chemistry teachers from CEJA Cesário Neto in Cuiabá - Mato Grosso, and the instruments used for the information records were: two questionnaires and a semi-structured interview. The results show that, with the current valorization of scientific knowledge and the increasing technological development of society, the appropriation of chemistry knowledge becomes indispensable for the formation of critical, conscious and especially participative citizens. Therefore, it is believed that the chemistry teaching that leads to the scientific literacy of the subject should be centered on the interrelationship of two basic components: chemical knowledge and the social context.Este artigo se trata de um recorte de pesquisa de mestrado e busca compreender e desvelar a realidade dos jovens da Educação de Jovens e Adultos (EJA) e sua interação com os conhecimentos químicos. Parte-se da problematização que circunda a tríade Jovens, EJA e Ensino de Química. Nesse sentido, as questões fundamentais norteadoras da pesquisa são: Por que tantos jovens optam pela EJA? E, se os conhecimentos químicos têm alguma implicação na formação pessoal e profissional desses jovens. A metodologia se fundamentou na contribuição da perspectiva qualitativa, com o enfoque no estudo de caso. O estudo tem como sujeitos oito jovens da III Fase do Ensino Médio e três professores de Química do CEJA Cesário Neto em Cuiabá – Mato Grosso, e os instrumentos utilizados para os registros de informações foram: dois questionários e uma entrevista semiestruturada. Os resultados evidenciam que, com a atual valorização do conhecimento científico e o crescente desenvolvimento tecnológico da sociedade, a apropriação de conhecimentos de Química se torna indispensável à formação de cidadãos críticos, conscientes e, especialmente, participativos. Acredita-se, portanto, que o ensino de Química que leva ao letramento científico do sujeito deve estar centrado na inter-relação de dois componentes básicos: conhecimento químico e o contexto social
