Abstract - The goal of this article is to provide insight into the design, development and evaluation of a game-based language assessment tool for tablets. The overall objective was to create a mobile application for practitioners in kindergarten, enabling these practitioners to gather relevant language data from children aged three to five. An automated analysis of the data provides information about the child’s language skills. If a need for support in language development can be found in the data, the application offers further possibilities how stakeholders can support a children’s learning process for the specific field of language.
