Diversidade e sazonalidade de Cydnidae (Insecta: Hemiptera: Heteroptera) em diferentes ecossistemas no estado do Pará, norte do Brasil

Seasonal variations in the abundance and richness of Cydnidae species are little studied in tropical regions all over the world. We aimed to evaluate the seasonal distribution of Cydnidae in several ecosystems with different degrees of impact in Uruará municipality, Pará state, northern Brazil. The study was conducted in areas with native vegetation, secondary forests at different stages of regeneration, agricultural lands, and pastures for extensive livestock farming. Sampling was performed during the rainy, intermediary (i.e., late rainy season and early dry season), and dry seasons. We collected a total 1310 Cydnidae individuals distributed in ten species/morphospecies. The collected Cydnidae species show patterns of habitat preference as well as a seasonal distribution. Taking abundance and richness as ecological measures, the rainy season and native vegetation showed the highest values. In contrast, the more impacted ecosystems and drier seasons showed the lowest values. We also observed a significant positive correlation of rainfall and humidity with the abundance and richness of Cydnidae. Conversely, abundance and richness showed a significant negative correlation with temperature.Variação sazonal na abundância e riqueza de Cydnidae é pouco estudada em regiões tropicais em todo mundo. O presente estudo teve como objetivo avaliar a distribuição sazonal de Cydnidae em diferentes ecossistemas com diferentes níveis de impacto localizado no município de Uruará, estado do Pará, norte do Brasil. O estudo foi desenvolvido em áreas de vegetação nativa, agricultura, pastagem para pecuária extensiva e vegetação secundária com diferentes estágios de regeneração. A amostragem foi realizada durante a estação chuvosa, estação intermediária – final da estação chuvosa e início da seca e estação seca. Um total de 1.310 indivíduos de Cydnidae foram coletados, distribuídos em dez espécies/ morfoespécies. As espécies de Cydnidae recolhidos neste estudo demonstram padrões de preferência de habitat, bem como distribuição sazonal. Usando a abundância e riqueza como medidas ecológicas, a estação chuvosa e vegetação nativa apresentou os maiores índices. Em contraste, as regiões mais impactadas e estações mais secas apresentaram os menores valores. Houve uma correlação positiva e significativa entre a precipitação e umidade com a abundância e riqueza de Cydnidae amostrados.
