Hair colors : composition, quality and impact on the incidence of breast cancer

Cilj ovog diplomskog rada je proučavanje utjecaja dugotrajnog korištenja trajnih boja za kosu na pojavnost karcinoma dojke kod korisnika, te na općenitu karcinogenost najčešćih sastojaka u formulacijama trajnih boja za kosu. Opisan je sastav i mehanizam komponenti boja za kosu, nastanak boje na kosi te metabolizam i toksičnost najupotrebljavanih sastojaka. Opisani su mehanizmi karcinogenosti p-fenilendiamina, najistraživanijeg sastojka, kao i učinak njegovih metabolita na apoptozu i mutacije stanica epitela. Pregledom dostupne literature prikupljeni su podaci o povezanosti učestale i dugotrajne upotrebe trajnih boja za kosu i pojavnosti karcinoma, s posebnim osvrtom na karcinom dojke.The aim of this thesis is to study the impact of long-term use of permanent hair dyes on the incidence od breast cancer in users, and on the general carcinogenicity of the most common ingredients in formulations of permanent hair dyes. The composition and mechanism of hair color components, hair color formation, metabolism and toxicity of the most widely used ingredients are described. The mechanisms of carcinogenicity of p-phenylenediamine, the most investigated ingredient, as well as the effect of its metabolites on apoptosis and mutations of epithelial cells are described.
