Virtue ethics is an ethical theory that, when taken as a system, has to include an elaboration of the purpose of education itself. The main goal of this theory is to show in which ways education forms our characters and prescribes the moral and intellectual values of one culture. This thought originates all the way back from Aristotle, who argued that the goal of the state is to make its people educated, and by doing so, virtuous.
