Using literature analysis as a research method, the author describes the various researchers, experts provided judgments about the organization of internaI control and internaI audit development in Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania, and compiled it in chronological order, reflecting the positive and negative trends. In Baltic States local government administrative territorial divisions are very different. In Latvia there are 118 local governments, which include nine cities and 109 parishes, by the population they can be classified as very large (4%), large (16%), moderate (48%), small (32%).
