Značaj soje proizlazi iz kvalitete kemijskog sastava njenog zrna. Prisutnost Kunitz tripsin inhibitora (KTI) u zrnu jedna je od glavnih prepreka u razvoju i širenju komercijalnih proizvoda od soje. Zrno s visokim sadržajem KTI-a potrebno je toplinski obraditi da bi se enzim tripsin inhibitora inaktivirao. Primjenom molekularnih markera moguće je otkriti oplemenjivačke linije soje s niskim sadržajem KTI-a. U istraživanju su korištena četiri različita genotipa koja su poslužila kao roditeljske sorte za dobivanje dvije F2 populacije.
