This paper presents a study on the journal Escuelas de España, published between 1929 and 1936, in which the references to aesthetic education that can be found in the articles of the publication are analysed. Through the five phases of the historical-educational research model and using a qualitative content analysis for the interpretation of the results, all issuess of the journal are analysed. The importance given to aesthetic education in the journal and the influence exercised by the Institución Libre de Enseñanza in the conception of this type of education is evident.
