EMOTION, BEAUTY AND LOVE... AESTHETIC EDUCATION IN THE PEDAGOGICAL JOURNAL ESCUELAS DE ESPAÑA (1929-1936)

This paper presents a study on the journal Escuelas de España, published between 1929 and 1936, in which the references to aesthetic education that can be found in the articles of the publication are analysed. Through the five phases of the historical-educational research model and using a qualitative content analysis for the interpretation of the results, all issuess of the journal are analysed. The importance given to aesthetic education in the journal and the influence exercised by the Institución Libre de Enseñanza in the conception of this type of education is evident. In 87% of the issues of the journal, and continuously, aspects related to aesthetic education are dealt with. Aesthetic education is considered essential to achieve integral education, since it is considered that an education that does not include respect, knowledge and the interpretation of the beautiful is not a complete education.En este artículo se presenta un estudio sobre la revista Escuelas de España, publicada entre 1929 y 1936, en el que se analizan las referencias a la educación estética que pueden encontrarse en los artículos de la publicación. A través de las cinco fases del modelo de investigación histórico-educativa y sirviéndose de un análisis de contenido cualitativo para la interpretación de los resultados, se analizan todos los ejemplares de la revista. Se evidencia la importancia que en la revista se concede a la educación estética y la influencia que ejerce la Institución Libre de Enseñanza en la concepción de ese tipo de educación: en un 87% de los ejemplares de la revista, y de forma continuada, se tratan aspectos relacionados con la educación estética. La educación estética se estima indispensable para lograr la educación integral, pues se considera que una educación que no contemple el respeto, el conocimiento y la interpretación de lo bello no es una educación completa
