The Girl Who Stole the Fire

On a Flame Kingdom island, a girl appears outside a haunted forest with no name and no memories. Each of the Four Kingdoms is ruled by a sacred element (earth, fire, water, wind) that chooses Its Host, the person who will wield Its power and lead the kingdom into prosperity. Raised by a kind Fire priestess, the girl with no memories grows up alongside those who suspect her of being cursed and have nicknamed her Ghost. At sixteen-years-old, with nowhere to belong to, Ghost steals the sacred Fire and demands to be Its Host. When she realizes she has no control over her new powers, she runs away into the haunted forest she once came from, afraid of the destruction she’s now capable of. Meanwhile Khienn, the Host of the sacred Tree, is studying under the powerful Wind Host. But while Khienn has learned to keep his emotions buried, he can’t help but question the Wind Host’s use of his element to punish and control those who oppose him. When Khienn is sent to find the Fire thief and lead her to her death, Khienn starts to uncover the malicious truth of the Wind Host’s plan. Together, these two Hosts— one a thief and one a prodigy— must put their pasts behind them in order to trust each other and stop the fall of their kingdoms
