THE APPLICATION OF COOPERATIVE LEARNING WITH SMALL GROUP DISCUSSION IN IMPROVING RN STUDENTS' WRITING SKILL

Name : Feni WulandariStudent No : 0706102050086Study Program : English Education Thesis Title : The Application of Cooperative Learning with Small Group Discussion in Improving Students' Writing Skill Writing is defined as a whole process of discovering ideas, developing, and organizing and revising material to achieve the communicative goal. The objective of this study is to look at some given theories and/or research findings on the use of cooperative learning for teaching writing skill. The discussion of the approach is focused on a particular technique under the cooperative learning, namely small group discussion. The method used in this study is library research. The study found that using Small Group Discussion gives the opportunity to the students to share to get ideas; it interests because they can interact to stimulate their ideas to achieve better writing. The students freely communicated with each other and they are more enthusiastic when they are joining the class. In short, based on the research findings and experts' statements, it is found that Small Group Discussion is effective increase the students' writing skill. This study is expected to be useful for other English teachers.Key words : Group Work, Improve, Writing
