This text, of a testimonial and biographical nature, is intended to be a shared tribute to the memory of the man who was teacher of anthropologists and, at the same time, the creator of most of the institutional structures that allowed the consolidation of our discipline in Catalonia. The extent of his groundbreaking work is essential to understand the way in which social anthropology found its place in the university and research institutions of Spain.
