Apocalyptic literature in the jewish tradition: the first book of enoch

The Jews were influenced by different cultures and traditions such as Babylonian, Iranian, Greek, and Hellenistic traditions. Jewish apocalyptic literature is the product / fruit of this period. In addition to Jewish prophecy and wisdom, Jewish apocalyptic literature was influenced by Mesopotamian mythology, Iranian dualism and apocalyptic imagery, and Hellenistic culture. With the exception of the Book of Daniel, the apocalyptic writings were not accepted as canonical scripture; they were neglected and classified as Pseudepigrapha. The recognition of Jewish apocalyptic literature began as an independent literary phenomenon, which arose in the Hellenistic and Roman periods started in the first quarter of the twentieth century after the discovery of the manuscripts in Ethiopia and Egypt. The discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls and Qumran in 1947 provoked research into the social background of apocalyptic literature. Since then, scholars have studied apocalyptic literature from different approaches: religious, literary, social, and political.The main subject of the first chapter of this work is the Jewish Apocalyptic literature in general, while in the second chapter, 1.Enoch, the first Jewish apocalypse written in the third century BC was examined
