PERAN IBU DALAM PENGEMBANGAN POTENSI ANAK AUTISM Di Jalan Raya Tlogo Waru, TologoWaru, Kedungkandang, Kota Malang

Autism is a brain development disorder that affects the patient's ability to communicate and interact with other people. In handling autistic children, the role of the mother is very important in every potential that the child has. The role of the mother as a caregiver of course must be appropriate for autistic children, because appropriate parenting patterns will affect the lives of autistic people in the future. The research was conducted at the UPT Center for Children with Special Needs, a school for children with autism or ABK. The main information in this study were three working mothers who had children with autism. The purpose of this study was to find out more about the role of mothers in the potential development of children with autism. The design of this research method uses the case study method. The research method used is a case study research approach. The results of the research get the themes, namely: (1) Providing Appropriate Therapy, (2) Optimal Mentoring Efforts, (3) Increasing Ability to Sharpen Children's Ability, (4) Providing Enthusiastic Motivation. The research data was taken by interview method. Discussions from this study the role of mothers in developing the potential of children with autism have been carried out to the fullest. Seeing the results of this study, it is necessary to have an optimal mother's role in developing the potential of children with autism
