The objective of this extended literature review was to answer the questions: What obstacles may hinder adult Korean English as a foreign language (EFL) students from improving their communicative competence? and What are strategies to enhance English communicative competence of adult Korean EFLs? This study provides an in-depth look into research on the topic of Korean adults learning English as a foreign language.
