School coexistence management in the BioBio region schools

The school coexistence has turned into a key process for the integral education of the Chilean students. In the context of the public education strengthening in the country, the research has a first approach to the school coexistence management in the Biobío province local high schools. The research applies an exploratory and descriptive quantitative focus to analyze the school coexistence management from the opinion of their representatives, who have had to lead and coordinate the process in the schools. To that end, a semi structured interview was applied, considering the validity judgement, reliability and objectivity. The first obtained results denotes the necessity to strengthen the job of the school coexistence representative and the school council role in the educational community, likewise, the curriculum action for the socioemotional development in the students and the monitoring processes, and school coexistence evaluation. Finally, a technological tool is proposed, that links the strategic and operational aspects of the school coexistence management and attends the necessities identified in the research.La convivencia escolar se ha transformado en un proceso clave para la formación integral de los estudiantes chilenos. En el marco del fortalecimiento de la educación pública en el país, el estudio tiene un primer acercamiento a la gestión de la convivencia escolar en los liceos municipales de la Provincia de Biobío. La investigación aplica un enfoque cuantitativo de tipo exploratorio y descriptivo para analizar la gestión de la convivencia escolar desde la opinión de sus encargados, quienes han tenido que liderar y/o coordinar el proceso en los establecimientos educativos. Para ello, se elaboró una entrevista semiestructurada considerando los criterios de validez, confiabilidad y objetividad. Los principales resultados obtenidos denotan la necesidad de fortalecer la labor del encargado de convivencia escolar y el rol del consejo escolar en la comunidad educativa, así mismo, la acción curricular para el desarrollo de competencias socioemocionales en los estudiantes y los procesos de monitoreo y evaluación de la convivencia escolar. Por último, se propone una herramienta tecnológica, que vincula los aspectos estratégicos y operacionales de la gestión de la convivencia escolar y que atiende las necesidades identificadas en el estudio
