3 fig.National audienceThe Massif du Conte (Dordogne), appreciably tilted eastward, presents abrupt rocky 1,5 km long one dominating the valley of Céou of more than 150 m on the base of which are numerous caves. This cliff is in 6 km on the West of Combe-Grenal and in 10 km in the southwest South of the caves of the Pech de l' Azé. An inventory maded by J. Lachastre have revealed the presence of more than 20 caves or shelters which contain some quaternary fauna or vestiges of prehistoric, protohistoric or even more recent occupations. Among these we shall indicate the cave XIII or Cave of the Church, the rather vast cavity which contains important ossiferous layers (Upper and Middle Pleistocene) which were excavated by F.
