2020 Student Celebration of Research and Creativity presentationThe main goal of the project is to develop 3D immersive geological models that can be easily implemented into online and classroom-based lessons. VR experiences would not only reduce travel costs but also would increase in-class participation of students. We selected Carter-Caves as our field area to test VR technologies. Recorded data were processed to create low-cost, high-quality virtual models. Preliminary results suggest that many factors influence the quality and extent of 3D environments.
