The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect ethanolic extract of Rosa canina on some serum biochemical factors of diabetic male rats. Thirty two (32) male Wistar rats weighting 200 – 250 grams in 4 groups (control, diabetic control, diabetics + 250mg/kg/day extract, diabetics + 500 mg/kg/day extract) were used. Diabetes was induced by STZ (60mg/kg) intraperitoneal injection. The period of experiment was 4 weeks. At the end of experiments, the rats were sacrificed and their serums collected for glucose, creatinine, urea and albumin estimation.
