Martinez, Jan. 3, 1914Dear sister Mary, Your new years greeting arrived today and I gladly wish you Heaven\u27s best blessings for 1914 & every other year of your life. You must find great pleasure in your painting & drawing. I\u27m now at work on my travels in Alaska which I hope to get off my hands this year, after which I hope to go on with other volumes of autobiography The first entitled My Boyhood & Youth I suppose you have read. Altogether I have published only 7 volumes though I have more than a score in mind. I suppose you have seen newspaper notices of my latest travels in Africa & South America. We are all pretty well.
