Accounting, audit and taxes in extraordinary circumstances

This diploma thesis deals with accounting, audit and taxes in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part describes the impact of the pandemic on selected areas of accounting, in particular on going concern assumption, events after the balance sheet date, asset valuation and creation of reserves, which are then described from the audit perspective as well. From the taxation point of view, this thesis focuses on the new institute of tax loss carry-back. The practical part of the diploma thesis analyses the impact of the pandemic on companies’ financial statements and their respective auditors' reports.Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na účetnictví, audit a daně v mimořádných podmínkách pandemie COVID-19 v České republice. Předmětem teoretické části práce je popis dopadů pandemie na vybrané oblasti účetnictví, zejména na předpoklad nepřetržitého trvání, události po rozvahovém dni, ocenění majetku a tvorbu rezerv, které jsou následně popsány i z auditorského pohledu. Z daňového hlediska se práce věnuje novému institutu zpětného uplatnění daňové ztráty. Praktická část se zabývá analýzou dopadů pandemie na účetní závěrky vybraných společností a k nim vydané auditorské zprávy
