He was a public prosecutor and a judge ("Oberlandesgerichtsrat") at the "Oberstes Landesgericht" in Munich. He was the president of the Munich Jewish community and of the "Verband Bayerischer Israelitischer Gemeinden" which he co-founded in 1920 and led until his emigration to Argentina in 1940. He was a co-founder of the "Reichsvertreutung der Juden in Deutschland" and a member of its "Rat". Between 1932 and 1938 he was a member of the "Hauptvorstand" of the "Centalverein".
