Serǧilla. Village d'Apamène. Tome I : Une architecture de pierre

International audienceSerǧilla is one of the best-preserved ancient villages in North Syria. It is an abandoned settlement located in the southern part of the Gebel Zawiye. Its limited size has made it possible for archaeologists/architects to investigate all of its component parts. This first volume, in two parts and a portfolio, is dedicated to the study of the architectural remains, mostly houses but also artisans' workshops, tombs, an ecclesiastical complex, a hostel and baths. The study of the different occupation phases allows investigators to outline the history of this settlement over more than four centuries, attesting the daily life and development of an entire rural community during Roman and proto-Byzantine times.Serğilla, situé dans la partie sud du ğebel Zawiyé, est l'un des villages antiques les mieux conservés de Syrie du Nord. Ses dimensions moyennes ont permis d'en étudier toutes les composantes. Ce premier tome, en deux volumes et un coffret de dépliants, est consacré à l'étude de ses vestiges bâtis - en majorité des maisons, mais aussi des installations artisanales, des tombeaux, un ensemble ecclésial, une auberge et des bains -. À travers l'étude de leurs différentes phases de construction et d'occupation, nous tentons de retracer l'évolution et de reconstituer la vie quotidienne de toute une communauté rurale aux époques romaine et protobyzantine
