International audienceSerǧilla is one of the best-preserved ancient villages in North Syria. It is an abandoned settlement located in the southern part of the Gebel Zawiye. Its limited size has made it possible for archaeologists/architects to investigate all of its component parts. This first volume, in two parts and a portfolio, is dedicated to the study of the architectural remains, mostly houses but also artisans' workshops, tombs, an ecclesiastical complex, a hostel and baths. The study of the different occupation phases allows investigators to outline the history of this settlement over more than four centuries, attesting the daily life and development of an entire rural community during Roman and proto-Byzantine times.Serğilla, situé...
