Rasm Afandī, village des steppes de Syrie

Rasm Afandī, village de terre, compte au nombre des implantations antiques qui se sont fortement développées durant les Ve et VIe siècles dans la région étudiée par la mission des Marges arides de la Syrie du Nord. L’examen de ses vestiges bâtis et de leur organisation en plan permet d’évoquer certains des caractères originaux ou standards d’une communauté rurale de cette région à la période protobyzantine.Rasm Afandī, an earthen village, is one of the antique settlements whose population considerably increased during the 5th and 6th centuries in the area studied by the mission of the Arid Margins of Northern Syria. The reading of its architectural remains, mostly simple houses, and of their planimetric organization allows to outline some of the original or common aspects of a rural community in this area during the proto-byzantine times
