La educación infantil en Colombia y España. Una aproximación legislativa

Childhood is an important stage for the human being development; it is in this stage where first bases are formed. This is the reason why it is necessary to provide infants with a quality initial education. This article describes the results of a comparative investigation focused on the analysis of the laws and curricular documents that are related with the decisions and actions of the design, implementation and evaluation of early childhood education in Colombia and Spain. The comparative analysis was developed using a contrast matrix that allowed the comparison of the two contexts, the primary sources used for the research were the Colombian and the Spanish legislations and documents, which allowed the research to compared both context around twelve categories which are related with the structural elements of the curriculum. The study provides a specific view of the differences and similarities in how education is offered in the selected countries. It was identify coincidences around all the twelve categories analyzed, with a greater emphasis on the purpose assigned to children's education related to the enhancement of the being dimension. The main dissimilarities were found in the organization of the levels in the early childhood education according to different age ranges and in how it is organized the areas and contents for each of the levels and cycles of education that are offers to children. This research offers a set of comparative conclusions that can guide teachers and teaching managers with the decision around the organization and design of early childhood education.La infancia es una etapa de vital importancia para el desarrollo del ser humano. Es en ella donde se forman las primeras bases para la vida de los seres humanos, por esto es necesario que se les brinde a los infantes una educación inicial de calidad. En el presente artículo, se describen los resultados de una investigación centrada en un estudio comparativo de las legislaciones y documentos curriculares que orientan las decisiones y acciones relativas al diseño, ejecución y evaluación en la educación infantil en Colombia y España. El análisis comparativo se realizó desde una matriz que permitió la contrastación de los dos contextos. Se examinaron como fuentes primarias las legislaciones y los documentos de los organismos oficiales reguladores de los sistemas educativos colombiano y español con relación a doce categorías que se encuentran relacionadas con los elementos estructurales del currículo. El estudio ofrece una visión específica de las diferencias y similitudes en la educación que se ofrece a los niños y niñas en los países seleccionados. Se identificaron coincidencias en todas las categorías analizadas, con mayor énfasis en el propósito que se le asigna a la educación infantil relacionada con la movilización y potencialización de las dimensiones del ser. Las principales disimilitudes radican en la manera en la que se organizan los niveles de la educación infantil en los respectivos sistemas educativos atendiendo a diferentes rangos de edad y en la manera de organizar las áreas y contenidos para cada uno de los niveles y ciclos de la educación que se ofrece a los niños y niñas. Esta investigación ofrece una serie de conclusiones comparativas que pueden orientar a docentes y directivos docentes, en la toma de decisiones en lo relativo a la organización y diseño de la educación infantil
