The objective of this work is to obtain a numerical tool for the simulation and optimization of the shaping process of metal powders by compaction and sintering. The proposed method is based on an experimental study of the behaviour of the materials, a phenomenological modelling and the use of the model in a finite element code. The validation of the calculations from parts manufactured in industrial environment completes the method. The first part of this manuscript is dedicated to the study of metal powders (iron-graphite and tungsten carbide-cobalt mixtures). A wide experimental study has been more particularly performed on iron-graphite powder. The experimental conditions to be adopted to obtain the intrinsic behaviour of the material h...
