The objective of this study is to predict the boundary layer laminar/turbulent transition over a hypersonic vehicle fore-body flying at Mach numbers between 4 and 8, at altitudes located between 20 and 30 km. Modal growth calculations of perturbations (local linear stability theory) coupled to the eN method is used to determine the transition location.A stability code was made for this study. It uses a specific model for the calculation of transport and specific heat coefficients of air.A Navier-Stokes code (Fluent) is used for mean flow calculations.
