This work deals with the development of new strategies of fonctionnalisation of oligo- and poly-thiophenes with a view to their possible applications as molecular sensors or molecular actuators. The first part describes the synthesis of three new series of macrocycles. Two of them are based on the bithiophene unit. These macrocyclic systems were electrochemically polymerized to give a series of new electroactive functional polythiophenes with several macrocyclic cavities and presenting certain sensitivity towards Li+. This strategy has been extended to the design of a new class of dynamic nanosystems capable to give rise to molecular motion upon chemical stimulation of a driving group incorporated in the polyether loop.
