We have developed several methods for the synthesis of luminescent semiconductor nanocrystals in aqueous solution. CdTexSy nanoparticles were prepared in the aqueous solution and their optical properties have been studied. Following chemical characterization, a model was proposed to calculate the molecular weight and molecular formula CdTexSy of the nanoparticles. We have demonstrated the existence of a relationship between the quantum yield and the number of ligands at the surface of the nanoparticles. The optical properties have been improved by using microwave irradiation for the synthesis. This method has allowed us to synthesize CdTexSeySz nanoparticles with good optical up to 680 nm.
