Economic situation in the Czech Republic before 1989

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyse the economic development in the Czech Republic in the period from 1970 to 1989. Firstly, bachelor thesis defines the basic terms such as gross domestic product and clarifies the methodology of the material product system and the system of national accounts and their relationship. Secondly, it informs about the total employment development and the labour productivity. The data source of this thesis is the Federal Statistical Office and the Czech Statistical Office before 1989, which were processed in a project by the Department of Economic Statistics of the University of Economics Prague. This project was focused on the historical dated GDP data and its components in ESA 2010. Long dated macroeconomic indicators data contribute to economic research and give valuable outputs for further statistical analysis and forecasts. The main output of this thesis is the gross domestic product counted in the system of national accounts methodology and its following indices of the economic circumstances. Moreover, these outputs are presented with the data of the Czech statistical office from 1990 to 2014
