Energy policy of the European Union and the success of its performance between 2010 and 2015

This bachelor thesis explores the history of energy policies since the Second World War and the success of its performance from years 2010 to 2015. The first part of this bechalor thesis explores the history and development of energy policy and the various communities during the previous six decades. The second part of this thesis contains an analysis of the economic situation in Europe and in main states in the field of energy resources, evaluation the reasons for planning Energy Union and analysis of success EU energy policies in the period 2010-2015 on the basis of three main energy documents: Europe 2020, Energy 2020 and Energy infrastructure priorities for 2020 and beyond: A Blueprint for an integrated European energy network. The main objective was to determine whether the objectives of these documents are still actually achievable from 2016 perspective. The thesis concludes that the majority of the three main energy documents fulfill the goals despite the EU energy policy, understood in a broader context than just these three documents, is definitely not in a perfect condition. The evidence is even the necessity to prepare a new Energy Union
