To mark the 60th anniversary in 1984 the Salon commissioned a poster featuring a painting of the 1935 Salon by Louis Bonsib. Through the 1980s shows were diverse, exciting, and non-traditional, but crowds were smaller and there was little newspaper coverage. In spite of this the Salon continued to sell art and advocate for Indiana art and artists. By 1989 the big challenge was to find a new place for the annual Salon. Ayres had been purchased by an out-of-state owner and was no longer available.Destination Indiana - Hoosier Salon Journe
