Bremen was settled about 1836 by Germans who called the town New Bremen after the seaport in Germany. Soon the word New was dropped. The town was platted in 1851, and in 1874 the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad was laid through the town.Destination Indiana Marshall County Journe
