Cabbage (Brassica oleracea var. capitata L.) is a valuable vegetable crop in Serbia, which is often grown in monoculture. Crop rotation should provide optimal development for plants in terms of soil structure and the availability of nutrients and water. It is a very important preventive measure in the control of harmful organisms in cabbage cultivation, mainly for the causal agents of diseases, but also insects and weeds. Cabbage is the first crop in crop rotation and good previous crops are: potato, wheat and leguminous plants.
