Hepatoid adenocarcinoma of the stomach is a special form of gastric carcinoma with both adenocarcinomatous and hepatocellular differentiation. Periodic acid-Schiff positive hyaline globules and immunohistochemically positive reactivity of alpha-fetoprotein are the main characteristics of the tumor. In this study, three gastric carcinomas diagnosed as hepatoid adenocarcinoma are presented. In our cases, all tumors had demonstrated an aggressive growth pattern and there was extensive angiolymphatic invasion. We found periodic acid-Schiff positive hyaline globules and alphafetoprotein reactivity in these tumors. In two cases, lymph node metastases were present.
