This historical based research thesis is primarily focused on the Hispanic population regarding their health. The historical study was based off of the BASIC study performed in Corpus Christi, Texas. The BASIC study explains the experiment performed in order to collect data with participants who are of Hispanic origin that are influenced by natural disasters within the southernmost part of Texas. These negative influences have a direct effect specifically on the Hispanic population due to their genetic makeup. The genetic makeup influences the Hispanic population's overall health in a negative way. The negative factors include high risks of stroke, hypertension and other negative affects from environmental factors too
