Purpose of the work: development of a technology for demanganization of ferrovanadium based on refining of metal melt from manganese by sulphide slags. The technology has undergone experimental industrial testing. The results of the work include the determination of laws of behaviour of metal and slag components when treating vanadium-containing metal by sulphide slags and the study of the concentration dependence of the sulphide slag adhesion to the ferrosilicovanadium melt and rate of evaporation of the sulphide phase.
