The improvement of algorithms and development of the complex of original programs for the express-recognition of the electric power system (EPS) state under big disturbances are the aim of the paper. The investigations have been held with the use of the image recognition theory, probability theory, information theory, mathematical calculation methods of Boolean algebra, methods of the EPS stability analysis and methods of the calculation programming on a computer. As a result original algorithms, making it possible to increase the effectiveness of the EPS state express-estimation under big disturbances and under conditions of the uncertainty and incompleteness of information have been developed.
