Within the IEA (International Energy Agency) program on Energy Conservation in Buildings and Community Systems four countries have cooperated to apply the approach of 'Advanced Local Energy Planning' (ALEP) to three big cities and three regions in Germany, Italy, Sweden and The Netherlands, using Markal as comprehensive energy model.
