The contribution describes a model of territorial energy planning to assess the consumption of thermal and electrical energy and the potential of solar energy that can be used by residential buildings, in order to reduce their dependence on fossil fuels, in line with the Europe 2020 objectives. A method for estimating the thermal energy needs is described, both for heating, and for electricity comparing it with the assessment of potential photovoltaic and solar thermal productivity.
