This research project investigated methods permitting an automatic operation of fluidic drives. The first part dealt with methods for experimental identification of black-box models to generate simulation tools with little effort. This task has been solved successfully using universal approximators. Fuzzy and neural networks yield models of high quality, which is realized by the development of efficient training algorithms. In the second part controller algorithms have been developed, that can be automized using fuzzy logic and neural networks. Two variants of a fuzzy-method can be used for adjusting the parameters of a PID-controller automatically.
