Basic investigations have been carried out on the behaviour of hydraulic and pneumatic drives, and ways for compensation of deviations have been studied considering different strategies of identification and adaption. Controller adaption by means of fuzzy logic has been successfully applied to a pneumatic axle, and a hydraulic motor with adaptive controller has been presented at the Hanover fair 1993.
