International audience« Perfumes » or unguents are considered in the scholarly literature as an organic form of the luxury products whose international trade unified the various states of the Eastern Mediterranean in a type of koiné during the Late Bronze Age. Due to their specificity, their components – aromaticplant substances or otherwise – require a combined approach that draws upon the written sources, archaeobotany, and more recently, archaeometry via the analysis of organic residues from various vessels.
