The propagation of shock waves involves complex interactions between waves and surrounding media, which gives rise to several phenomena such as reflection, diffraction, etc. To shed more light into the fundamental physics associated with these phenomena, high resolution numerical simulations were carried out. In particular, analysis of shock diffraction over double concave cylindrical wedges revealed that the transition angles, from regular to Mach reflection, increase with the Mach number, whereas they are found to be almost the same over the two concave surfaces for the transonic Mach regimes and relatively larger on the second surface for high ones showing that the flow is capable of retaining the memory of the past events over the entir...
